Who Am I?

Business Experience

I have over 25 years’ experience of successful leadership in business, developing strategy, building teams and delivering change.

Ultimately, as Managing Director, Barclays Cards and Loans, at Barclaycard, I was responsible for bringing together all the consumer lending and credit card business for personal customers of Barclays and growing the P and L. I was also responsible for the Barclaycard brand.

A reputation for successful business delivery enabled me to make some unusually stretching career moves, across a range of different financial services markets, including:

Director, Premier Banking

launched a new line of business for affluent clients.

Chief Operating Officer/Change Director, Barclays Private Banking

ran the UK operations to support the highest quality customer service for high net worth clients and managed a £multi-million global change portfolio. Was a director of this separately licenced bank.

Director of the Retail Financial Services Change Programme

led a business-wide programme of transformational change for the business.

Director of Barclaycall

led the telephone banking business with responsibility for over 1000 staff across two networked call centres. Managed the business through an explosive period of growth and change and also delivered a third, huge new contact centre in Sunderland.

Head of Marketing, Barclays Global Securities Services

developed and then ran the full range of marketing and sales capabilities for the global custody business.

Executive Development Experience

I have worked with senior individuals in a diverse range of organisations and my experience includes:

• Directors in major PLCs
• Partners in international law firms and other professional services firms
• Directors in leading international investment management companies
• Directors in an NHS Trust
• Directors and executives in banking and financial services

Qualifications

I am an International Coach Federation accredited coach (ACC), NLP Practitioner and am qualified in the use of psychometric tools, including Myers Briggs and Firo-B.

• ACIB – Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Beckett Memorial prize winner)
